bus provided by maxim as we arrived at L.A.H.I in tagaytay
Worship avenue group from our company (Maxim Phils.) has organized an outreached program last December 2010 entitled : Maxim Tree of Blessing were in they encourage every employee to give gifts to the children and shared blessings... The options were to donate at least 150 worth of grocery items needed by kids and babies such as diapers, milk, slippers, school supplies, toiletries and food or sponsor at least 1 kid to give gifts...i choose to sponsor a kid and i volunteer to the worship avenue and join them at the orphanage...i was the only QA who joined team, that means i didn't know anyone on the group...
14 kids living at mango house orphanage ages 10 and below

Since this is my first time and i love babies and kids in nature, i felt a pinch in my heart... Every kids has a different story why they are there...and it hurts me to think that some of them are abandoned...But later on i realized they are still luckier than other children since they have a home and a great mom... These kids are well trained and disciplined, sobrang babait i guess they are raised well...
preparing for the game

gift giving started

thanks ate Esmie for the company

i like the gift bag...

and more gifts to give...

helping this little boy open his gift...

This is my learning event...why? cuz this little boy, despite that he gets smaller gifts compared to the others, he was happy and appreciative with what he gets, he wasn't envious with his friends.he even told me ,wow so many stickers, its more than 10...i never seen anyone of them fought for the toys they get and never envied each other...it's like telling me, BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE and don't envy others...
finally meet their fairy godmother...

The whole group worship avenue and some volunteers...
At the end of the day, i contemplate...Joining outreached program can make you feel like you are truly blessed and you wanted to share more of what you have specially with these kids, they are incapable of getting all their needs even just the basics if they don't depend on someone who's capable of giving...

And i told myself, I'll do it again...But this time I'll be more prepared cuz i want to give more. Not just something material  but more of my effort... i think i'll go back with this HOME...

this post intention is to encourage others to organize more outreach program or help children. Most of all enlighten people to be responsible enough to handle their child... They are gift from God and they have the right to live a normal life...
